The West Mill Derby
The West Mill Wedding | Derby
I had the pleasure of photographing Bethan & Marc’s wedding at The West Mill in January 2020. This was my first wedding of the year and my first ever wedding the West Mill in Derby. Having researched the venue on Google beforehand, I was very excited to be working at such a cool looking venue. Let me tell you; it’s even better in person. The platform has many levels that are all used for different rooms during a wedding. For example, the top-level is the ceremony room. There are windows all around the space allowing for beautiful winter light to leak through and feel the room with warmth. Another level is used as the dining area. It has two large long tables that are perfect for a wedding, in my opinion. Having all guests and family together makes for a joyful time. What’s also great about The West Mill is that it used to be a cotton spinning mill, and this is very evident and gives the place a unique feel.
Bethan & Marc couldn’t have been any more likeable, and that also goes for their friends and family. I left the wedding feeling excited to start my wedding season again. I had a month of December, and I am well and truly ready to get the ball rolling again.
